Peter Appollonio Jr. is a Democrat representing District 29 (Warwick) in the
Rhode Island Senate. He was elected in November 2024.
Sen. Appollonio
spent 24 years as a member of the West Warwick Police Department, retiring in
2017 at the rank of Captain. His time in law enforcement included serving as a
school resource officer, and he presently works as a substitute teacher in
Warwick Public Schools.
Sen. Appollonio was born and raised in Warwick,
attending Lippitt, Saint Rose of Lima, Gorton, and Veterans' Memorial schools.
He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Rhode Island College.
He resides in Conimicut, where he and his wife, Yolanda, raised their daughter,
Maria.
