The Guide to Government Assistance Programs
This guide is designed to provide an overview of the government assistance programs that help low- and modest-income Rhode Islanders meet their basic needs. These programs include Income Supports, Food Assistance, Health Care, Child Care, Housing, Utilities and Tax Credits. Information in the Guide is current as of June 24, 2010.

BrightStars
BrightStars provides parents with information on program quality to make important decisions regarding their children’s care. They also help child care providers learn about best practices in early learning and apply them to the care children receive.
Right Choice for Kids
Right Choice for Kids informs families about the importance of high-quality early education and allows parents and the public to search for National Association for the Education of Young Children-accredited programs.
Early Intervention
This program provides support to families with newborns to children three years of age, who have a known developmental delay or disability or are at risk of delayed growth or development.
Child Outreach
The Child Outreach program is sponsored by the RI Department of Education and is offered through local school districts. It is a screening process to evaluate the developmental, speech, vision, and hearing needs of children ages three through five. All children ages three through five are eligible for free screening.
