Media Advisory: Speaker Shekarchi to announce legislative package to address critical housing needs in RI at State House news conference on Monday

STATE HOUSE – House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi will host a news conference Monday to announce a major coordinated effort by the House of Representatives to address housing in Rhode Island.
The event is scheduled Monday, March 1, at 4 p.m. and will be held in Room 35 of the State House or via WebEx. Members of the media may cover in person or by emailing Larry Berman at lberman@rilegislature.gov for a WebEx link.
The event will be livestreamed by Capitol Television at http://rilegislature.gov/CapTV/Pages/default.aspx. It will also be televised on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox Channels 15, and 61, in high definition on Cox Channel 1061, on Full Channel on Channel 15 and on Channel 34 by Verizon subscribers.
Speaker Shekarchi (D-Dist. 23, Warwick) will be joined by House Majority Leader Christopher R. Blazejewski (D-Dist. 2, Providence) and Reps. Mia A. Ackerman (D-Dist. 45, Cumberland, Lincoln), John G. Edwards (D-Dist. 70, Tiverton, Portsmouth), Charlene M. Lima (D-Dist.14, Cranston, Providence), June Speakman (D-Dist. 68, Warren, Bristol) and Anastasia P. Williams (D-Dist. 9, Providence) to highlight some of their housing legislative efforts.
