Sen. Ciccone sends letter to Attorney General concerning Triggs management vote
|
STATE HOUSE – Sen. Frank A. Ciccone (D-Dist. 7, Providence, North Providence) has sent a letter to Attorney General Peter Neronha voicing his concerns regarding the recent vote by the Providence Board of Parks Commissioners to extend the contract for FCG Associates to continue operating the Triggs Golf Course in Providence.
“As State Senator for District 7, I believe it is my obligation to call your attention to the appearance of impropriety associated with the City of Providence’s award of the Triggs contract,” says Senator Ciccone in the letter.
“I write on behalf of my constituents, many of whom have contacted me expressing concerns that the process was rigged. At least two individuals relayed they were told by current management it was a ‘done deal’ weeks before the Board of Parks Commissioners agenda was even posted,” continues Senator Ciccone.
“As one of the City’s largest green spaces, residents deserve a fair and transparent process in awarding a ten-year contract to manage the property. I urge you to look into the propriety of this procurement process,” concludes Senator Ciccone in the letter.
