Reps. O’Brien and Corvese deliver $10,000 to North Providence Little and Softball Leagues
|
STATE HOUSE – In time for the opening of the 2023 season, Reps. William W. O’Brien and Arthur J. Corvese have delivered a combined $10,000 in legislative grants to the North Providence Little League and Girls Fastpitch Softball League.
“Baseball and softball are time-honored traditions that bring children and families together here in North Providence. We are proud to help support these community building programs for kids because they do so much to strengthen community and social bonds in our town,” said Representative Corvese (D-Dist. 55, North Providence).
“We are very happy to be able to contribute to ensuring that Little League and Girls Fastpitch Softball remain accessible and fun opportunities for kids in our community. These sports teach our young children valuable lessons that will serve them well later in life while also bringing the people of North Providence together to celebrate and watch our kids play our country’s past time,” said Representative O’Brien (D-Dist. 54, North Providence).
The $6,000 grant for the Little League will be used to help offset the cost of uniforms.
The $4,000 grant for the softball league will be used to help continue offering affordable registrations fees for players and families.
