STATE HOUSE, Providence –Senate leaders will unveil a package of health care legislation at a news conference to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at 4 p.m. in the Senate Lounge.
The 24-bill package, to be known collectively as The Rhode Island HEALTH Initiative (Holistic Enhancement and Access Legislation for Total Health), will focus on addressing four key areas of the health care system:

Consumer protection,

Provider availability and care quality,

Cost containment, and
-
Health system financial stability.
The following senators will outline the bills at tomorrow’s news conference:

Senate Majority Leader Ryan Pearson

Senate Health & Human Services Committee Chairman Joshua Miller

Senator Pamela Lauria, Secretary, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services and a primary care nurse practitioner

Senate Environment & Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Alana DiMario, who is a licensed mental health counselor in private practice.
