Media Advisory: House Health, Human Services Committee to vote on bills Thursday

STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets Thursday to vote on three bills.
The committee is scheduled to meet Thursday, May 2, at the rise of the House session (sometime after 4:30 p.m.) in the House Lounge on the second floor of the State House. The committee is scheduled to vote on:

2024-H 7093— Sponsored by Rep. Robert E. Craven (D-Dist. 32, North Kingstown), this House resolution creates a 15-member special legislative commission to study and provide recommendations and comments for health care liability reform.

2024-H 7736 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Jennifer Boylan (D-Dist. 66, Barrington, East Providence) would require the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals to coordinate with the Department of Health to propose revisions to chapter 1.10 and 10.1 of title 23, including updates and revisions of statutory language and evidence-based best practices.

2024-H 8144 — Sponsored by Rep. Lauren H. Carson (D-Dist. 75, Newport), this legislation would expand the membership of the Special Legislative Commission to Study and Provide Recommendations Pertaining to Services and Coordination of State Programs Relating to Older Adult Rhode Islanders, as well as amend its purpose and extend its reporting and expiration dates. The committee will consider an amendment to the bill.
The meeting will be televised on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox channel 61, on i3Broadband channel 15 and on Verizon channel 34. It will be live streamed at capitoltvri.cablecast.tv.
