MEDIA ADVISORY: House Oversight Committee to hear presentation from Rhode Island Mental Health Advocate

STATE HOUSE — The House Committee on Oversight is scheduled to meet Wednesday to hear a presentation on programs offered by the Office of the Mental Health Advocate.
The committee will meet Wednesday, May 15, at 3 p.m. in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House.
The committee will hear a presentation from Megan N. Clingham, director of the independent state agency. The Rhode Island Office of the Mental Health Advocate is an independent state agency staffed by attorneys who provide free legal, investigative, and advocacy services related to treatment, incarceration, housing, employment, and many other legal issues affecting those with mental illness, including substance use disorders.
The House Oversight Committee is chaired by Rep. Patricia Serpa (D-Dist. 27, West Warwick, Coventry, Warwick).
The meeting will be televised live by Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox channel 61, on i3Broadband channel 15 and on Verizon channel 34. It will be live streamed at capitoltvri.cablecast.tv.
