Media Advisory: House Environment Committee to meet Tuesday to vote on toxic chemical and forest fire mitigation bills

STATE HOUSE — The House Environment and Natural Resources Committee will meet Tuesday to vote on bills related to toxic chemicals in packaging and forest fire mitigation.
The committee is scheduled to meet Tuesday, May 28, at 3:45 p.m. in Room 135 on the first floor of the State House. The committee will vote on several bills, including:

2024-H 7728 —This bill introduced by Rep. Megan L. Cotter (D-Dist. 39, Exeter, Richmond, Hopkinton) would encourage fire prevention plans for large properties. The committee will also consider an amendment to the bill.

2024-S 2850A —This bill introduced by Sen. Bridget Valverde (D-Dist. 35, North Kingstown, East Greenwich, South Kingstown) would extend the deadlines for compliance with the Toxic Packaging Reduction Act. The committee will also consider an amendment to the bill.

2024-H 7619 — This bill introduced by Rep. Terri Cortvriend (D-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown) would also extend the deadlines for compliance with the Toxic Packaging Reduction Act. The committee will also consider an amendment to the bill.
