Media Advisory House plans orientation for new members Dec. 4
|
STATE HOUSE — The six newly elected members of the Rhode Island House of Representatives have been invited to participate in an orientation session Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the House Chamber on the second floor of the State House.
It will include welcome remarks at 11:30 a.m. from House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi (D-Dist. 23, Warwick), House Majority Leader Christopher R. Blazejewski (D-Dist. 2, Providence) and House Minority Whip David J. Place (R-Dist. 47, Burrillville, Glocester).
The orientation program will include overviews of the legislative process, the budget process and legislative duties as well as introductions of the directors of various legislative offices and training on the legislative website and computer system.
Expected to attend the day’s events are the following newly-elected House members who will be sworn into office on the first day of the 2025 General Assembly session, Tuesday, January 7:
