MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee meets twice this week to begin hearing budget articles

STATE HOUSE – The Senate Finance Committee will be meeting twice this week to begin reviewing the proposed FY 25 revised and FY 26 recommended budgets.
The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).
On Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 211 of the State House, the committee will hear testimony on the following budget articles:

FY 26 recommended - Article 1, Section 20: Making Appropriations in Support of FY 2026 (Rhode Island Student Loan Authority Transfer)

FY 26 recommended - Article 2, Section 3: State Funds (Excess Revenue Transfer to Employees’ Retirement System of RI and to State Supplemental Budget Reserve Account)

FY 25 revised - Article 1, Sections 7-9: Making Revised Appropriations in Support of FY 2025 (Underground Storage Tank Fund Transfer; Rhode Island Student Loan Authority Transfer; Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank Fund Transfer)
The committee will also hear testimony on legislation (2025-S 0042), sponsored by Sen. Walter S. Felag Jr. (D-Dist. 10, Warren, Bristol, Tiverton), that provides that funds or monies collected by designated quasi-public corporations or agencies not be subject to transfer or reallocation by order of the governor or General Assembly.
On Thursday, Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. in Room 211 of the State House, the committee will hear testimony on the following budget articles:
