MEDIA ADVISORY: Senate Finance Committee meets twice this week to hear department budgets and budget articles

STATE HOUSE – The Senate Finance Committee will be meeting twice this week to hear testimony on department budgets and to continue hearing budget articles
The committee is chaired by Sen. Louis P. DiPalma (D-Dist. 12, Middletown, Little Compton, Newport, Tiverton).
On Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the RISE of the Senate (approximately 5 p.m.) in Room 211 of the State House, the committee will hear testimony on the FY 25 revised and FY 26 budgets for the Department of Revenue.
The committee will also hear the following budget articles from the FY 26 budget proposal:
On Thursday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. in Room 211 of the State House, the committee will hear testimony on the following department budgets and budget articles:

Department of Commerce: FY 25 Supplemental and FY 26 Budgets, Article 6: Relating to Economic Development

Department of Business Regulation: FY2025 Supplemental and FY2026 Budgets, Article 3, Section 2: Relating to Government Reform and Reorganization (Jiujitsu and Karate Licenses), Article 8, Section 8: Relating to Medical Assistance (Primary Care Rate Review)

Cannabis Control Commission: FY2025 Supplemental and FY2026 Budgets, Article 3, Section 1: Relating to Government Reform and Reorganization (CCC), Article 3, Section 4: Relating to Government Reform and Reorganization (CCC Hearing Officer)
The committee will also hear testimony on Article 1, Section 10, which relates to the Marijuana Trust Fund Transfer in the FY 25 revised budget.
