2/24/2025 Media Advisory: RIBLIA Caucus to hold Black History Month celebration
STATE HOUSE — The Rhode Island Black, Latino, Indigenous, Asian-American and Pacific Islander Caucus (RIBLIA) will hold its annual Black History Month celebration tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 3 p.m. in the Governor’s Room on the second floor of the State House.

The event is a joyful celebration of Black culture, natural hair and the contributions of Black Rhode Islanders to the state’s history, culture and commerce. The event will include a pop-up market of over 20 Rhode Island-based black-owned businesses, hair braiding, free portraits and a tour of the State House for attendees.

The RIBLIA Caucus represents and advocates for the interests of people of color throughout the State of Rhode Island. Through legislative advocacy and community engagement, the RIBLIA Caucus is dedicated to building a more inclusive and representative government that reflects the diversity of Rhode Island residents.

Rep. David Morales (D-Dist. 7, Providence) and Sen. Tiara T. Mack (D-Dist. 6, Providence) are the co-chairs of the caucus.
