3/10/2025 MEDIA ADVISORY: House Finance Subcommittees to meet five times this week to hear department budgets
STATE HOUSE – House Finance Subcommittees will be meeting five times this week to continue hearing department budgets.
           
On Tuesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on General Government will hear testimony on the following FY 26 and FY 25 revised budgets:
  • Board of Elections
  • Secretary of State
The subcommittee is chaired by Rep. Alex D. Marszalkowski (D-Dist. 52, Cumberland).
           
Also, on Tuesday, March 11, at the RISE of the House (approximately 5 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Environment and Transportation will hear testimony on the following FY 26 and FY 25 revised budgets:
  • Department of Transportation
  • Rhode Island Public Transit Authority
  • Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority
The subcommittee is chaired by Rep. Terri Cortvriend (D-Dist. 72, Portsmouth, Middletown).

On Wednesday, March 12, at 4 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on General Government will hear testimony on the following FY 26 and FY 25 revised budgets:
  • Executive Office of Commerce
  • Department of Labor and Training
  • Department of Housing
  • Commission for Human Rights
On Thursday, March 13, at 3 p.m. in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Public Safety will hear testimony on the following FY 26 and FY 25 revised budgets:
  • Judiciary
The subcommittee is chaired by Rep. William W. O’Brien (D-Dist. 54, North Providence).
           
Also, on Thursday, March 13, at the RISE of the House (approximately 5 p.m.) in Room 35 of the State House, the Subcommittee on Human Services will hear testimony on the following FY 26 and FY 25 revised budgets:
  • Department of Children, Youth and Families
  • Office of the Child Advocate
The subcommittee is chaired by Rep. Teresa A. Tanzi (D-Dist. 34, South Kingstown, Narragansett).
