MEDIA ADVISORY: 214th Colombian Independence Day celebration to be held on July 16
STATE HOUSE – Four Rhode Island legislators of Colombian descent will be hosting the 214th Colombian Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, July 16 at 5 p.m. in the State Room of the State House.
Sen. Sandra Cano (D-Dist. 8, Pawtucket), Rep. Karen Alzate (D-Dist. 60, Pawtucket), Sen. Jonathon Acosta (D-Dist. 16, Central Falls, Pawtucket) and Rep. Joshua J. Giraldo (D-Dist. 56, Central Falls) will host the celebration.
The event will celebrate the rich culture and history of Colombia and the impact Colombian-Americans have had in Rhode Island. The celebration is free and open to the public. Refreshments will also be served.
The event will be televised by Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox channel 61, on i3Broadband channel 15 and on Verizon channel 34. It will be live streamed at capitoltvri.cablecast.tv.
