Media Advisory: Primary care education commission to issue final report, recommendations Tuesday

Chairwoman Lauria to hold media availability before meeting
STATE HOUSE – The special legislative commission studying Rhode Island’s health care workforce and issues related to educating and retaining primary care physicians will meet Tuesday to issue its final report and recommendations, including those related to the possibility of creating a medical education program at the University of Rhode Island.
The Special Legislative Commission to Make a Comprehensive Study of Rhode Island’s Healthcare Workforce Related to Educating and Retaining Primary Care Physicians and Establishing a State Medical School at the University of Rhode Island is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 5:15 p.m. in the Senate Lounge on the second floor of the State House.
Sen. Pamela J. Lauria (D-Dist. 32, Barrington, Bristol, East Providence) will hold a media availability regarding the commission’s findings at 3 p.m. in Room 313 on the third floor of the State House.
