Media Advisory: House Health, Human Services Committee meets Wednesday
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Health and Human Services Committee meets Wednesday to vote on a bill concerning a program to assist communication between police and drivers with autism, and for hearings on two other bills.
The committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday, April 24, at the rise of the House session (sometime after 4:30 p.m.) in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House. The committee is scheduled to vote on:

2024-H 7040— Sponsored by Rep. Samuel A. Azzinaro (D-Dist. 37, Westerly), this bill would require the Division of Motor Vehicles to create a blue envelope program for drivers with autism. The committee will consider an amendment to the bill.

2024-H 8153 — This bill sponsored by Health and Human Services Committee Chairwoman Susan R. Donovan (D-Dist. 69, Bristol, Portsmouth) establishes, encourages and supports the establishment of family councils in managed residential communities providing assisted living services.

2024-H 8171 — Sponsored by Rep. Matthew S. Dawson (D-Dist. 65, East Providence) Removes the sunset provision of all statutory law requiring coverage for the treatment of pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections and pediatric acute onset neuropsychiatric syndrome.
