Media Advisory: House Labor Committee to vote on workers’ health care bill
|
STATE HOUSE – The House Labor Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday to vote on legislation (2024-H 7795) sponsored by Rep. Julie A. Casimiro (D-Dist. 31, North Kingstown, Exeter) prohibiting contractors or subcontractors from paying employees the cash equivalent of any applicable health care benefit in lieu of actually purchasing it, and establishing civil penalties for violations.
The committee will be considering an amendment to the bill.
The meeting is scheduled Wednesday, April 24, at 3:45 p.m. in Room 101 on the first floor of the State House.
The meeting will be televised on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox channel 61, on i3Broadband channel 15 and on Verizon channel 34. It will be live streamed at capitoltvri.cablecast.tv.
